You can now either use the Cut Tool or use Delete-key to make another selection. A quick trick to make it even easier. In my opinion, one of the best ways of using the Cut tool is to start a layer mask with “Alt” key depressed and then press Delete key. When you are done with your selection you can release the “Alt” key and press that same Deletes key just to create a new selection again (for instance, to remove another circle on the circle button).
